I never had a massage before, what should I expect? When you first come in, I will ask you a number of questions pertaining to your area(s) of complaint and any medical conditions you may have. I will give you a detailed explanation about the technique I’ll be using for treatment & answer any questions you may have before we begin our session. You will then be escorted to your room to undress to your level of comfort while I wait outside the room. Once you undress, you will lie on the massage table under the top sheet. I will knock on the door to ask if you are ready before I enter the room. You will always be fully covered during your session except for the area of the body I will be working on. Your modesty will always be respected. You can expect a calming atmosphere with relaxing music playing during your massage.
What if I’m not comfortable during my massage? Please speak up! If, at any time during your session, a technique or stroke I’m using is too hard or not hard enough, or you’re too warm or too cold or the music is too loud, etc…please don’t be shy about letting me know. Your comfort is extremely important to me.
Do I need to bring anything? No. I have everything that’s needed during your session.
How will I feel after my massage? It is my understanding that people experience different feelings depending on what they were treated for. Some people feel relaxed and rejuvenated from anxiety or tension while others feel incredible relief from months of aches and pains. Many, if not all, have told me they feel like a tremendous burden has been “lifted off their shoulders” so to speak. What is most rewarding is they all leave in a fun-loving mood.
How often should I get a massage? That would depend on what you’re being treated for and what your stress levels are. After your massage and through evaluation, I will give you a recommendation on the best way to achieve the results you need in the least amount of time. Mostly I recommend that people get a massage at least once a month after their primary concerns are resolved. Surprisingly, the most popular choice is bi-weekly or every three weeks.
What kind of products will be used during my massage? I only use unscented massage cream. For people who have sensitive skin, I use hypoallergenic massage cream or talcum powder. I do have some clients who bring scented oils they like and I mix them with the massage cream.
How much notice is needed to schedule an appointment? It depends on the time of day you prefer. Between 10am to 3pm - 2 to 4 day notice. Between 3pm to 7pm - 5 to 7 day notice. However, sometimes you can get in sooner or on the same day if an opening becomes available.
If you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to call me at 881-7198. I’ll be more than happy to answer them for you.
